I am sitting on the beach at Alfred’s Ocean Palace in Negril drinking some Blue Mountain coffee and eating some delicious banana pancakes, it is a pretty sweet way to start the day.

We have been staying at the Buccaneer in Treasure Beach Jamaica. It’s a beautiful house with four bedrooms about 50 feet above the beach. Right now there are small butterfly flitting around everywhere.

We went over to the BREDS community sports park in treasure beach Jamaica. They were having a big basketball tournament with teams from different parts of the island. We also watched the Olympics and Jamaica win another 4 x 100 relay.

What is this girl up to?

Cliff bought some fresh fish on the beach from some fisherman and Jackie and he cooked it up, it was delicious.

We took a day trip to Lovers Leap. Located east of Treasure Beach, Lovers Leap is a sheer 1700-foot cliff overhanging the sea. The legend associated with the site is that during the days of enslavement two young lovers used to meet secretly on the adjoining Yardley Chase Plantation. The owner wanted the female for himself and arranged to have her lover sold. Not wanting to be separated, the two hand in hand plunged to their death.

We went to Jack Sprats in Treasure Beach, we had a couple beers and posed for a few photos. We came back later and watched Usain Bolt win another Olympic Gold medal in the 100 meter. It is always fun to watch the Jamaican Olympians in a public place as the Jamaicans are so proud of their athletes and get so excited when they win.

Even though it is a little bit touristy Scotchies in Montego Bay is one of my favorite restaurants. The cruise ships bring vans of people over when they dock in Mobay. The jerk chicken is excellent and cooked over an open pit with green pimento wood and a zinc sheet covering to top it off, holding the smoke over the top of the chicken, fish and pork.

We had a delicious lunch at Ruby’s in Whitehouse. Ruby’s is a traditional local Jamaican restaurant serving meals like curry, brown stew and fried chicken, fish and pork. Tressanna is enjoying her food but little Sash and Jackie look upset that their food hasn’t been served. Pictured are brown stew pork and curry conch (conch is a tropical marine mollusk).
