It was 114° in Las Vegas, it was HOT MON! When we rolled down the hill toward Vegas near the Nevada State line there was a cool solar facility that had collector towers that were so bright it was hard to look at them. Very space age.

We got up early (meaning Brad got up early) and we rolled out of San Diego at 6:00am. We were in Las Vegas before noon. 

We ate some delicious barbecue at Phils with Joe and Sophie Kelleher. It was great to see them again. Sophia was in her first week in her new job after getting her California teacher certification.

Tressanna  had her first laundromat experience. Savina made a new friend with with a toothless homeless lady. We watched a movie drank some beverages.

We spent about three hours today touring the USS Midway and we still didn’t see it all. It is almost 1000 feet in length and during its hey day housed 4500 sailors. The interior  hanger was 650 feet in length and it was such an amazingly large area it was hard to realize that you were actually on a ship.  They are continuing to refurbish the ship and open new areas and new exhibits.

We went to get tacos with Joe Kelleher at place called Tacos El Gordo and they were some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. This place was a well oiled taco making machine.

We drove down from Barry’s house in Huntington Beach to Mission Beach in San Diego. We grabbed our beach chairs and hung out on the beach for a while. There were lots of people out and about.

We went out for lunch and had Korean barbecue. It was all you can eat in two hours and cost $15.99 per person it was pretty good we ordered 20 items. We were supposed to meet Barry but we had a bit of a miscommunication and Barry was waiting for us in Tustin and we were at a different Gen BBQ.

Barry and Sue have a Burmese Mountain dog named Max, here he is with Tressanna.
